The CI-UHM sponsors events that focus on

1) improving the ability of pre- and inservice teachers to teach Chinese language,
2) various aspects of Chinese culture, through lectures by distinguished speakers  and
3) special events such as musical performances, theatre, and exhibitions.

Often these events are co-sponsored by the University’s Center for Chinese Studies,
other departments at the University of Hawai’i, the East-West Center, the Pacific-Asian Affairs Council,
and community organizations such as the Chinese Language Education Association of Hawai’i and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
